In a 10 inning thriller, the Majors division Oregon Ducks defeated the Viejo Orioles 7-3 and continued their journey in TOC to make it to the Championship game this Saturday.

Oregon took an early 2-0 over a tough Viejo Orioles team when Jackson Ferry hit a clutch bases loaded single. The lead was short lived as the teams went back and forth throughout the first 6 innings with solid pitching from both teams. The Orioles battled back to tie the game 2-2 in the 2nd until Luke Roecker hit a solo HR to give the Ducks a 3-2 lead in the 3rd. The lead held until the top of the 6th inning when the Orioles scored on a base hit to right with a runner on 2nd.

In epic fashion, the Ducks managed to win the game in the bottom of the 10th inning. It started with Luke Johnson getting on with a single to begin the inning. Blake Manning grounded up the middle to get LJ at second for the first out but on an overthrow at first, Manning advanced to 2nd to get into scoring position. JP Higgins went down swinging for the second out. With Luke Roecker coming up and a runner in scoring position, the Orioles decided to intentionally walk him. Ryan Bock hit a hard single to center on the next pitch which was unable to score Manning and loaded the bases.

With two outs and bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Tyler Sturm came up to the plate (on his birthday) and launched a laser over the right center wall for Grand Slam to win the game. The Ducks will now face the Yankees at 12 noon on Saturday at Curtis Park for the TOC Championship.
