Spring 2024 Evaluation Day (AA and up)

Evaluation Day Details
Date: Saturday, January 6, 2024 (make-up day January 13) *pending weather conditions
Location: Wagon Wheel Sports Park, Field TBD
Divisions: AA and older only (Tee Ball, Minor A and Single A players do not need to attend)

Check-in for Coaches and Players:

10 minutes prior
Players are given an assigned number and bib/sticker to wear
Coaches are provided with player evaluation forms, but advised to bring their own clipboards, pens, and stopwatch devices
All players are encouraged to attend the evaluation, even the coaches kids.

Age Evaluation Schedule (Link to 2024 Little League Age Chart):

Eight year olds and under 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (open to 7-year-olds that want to try out for AA).
Nine year olds: 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Ten year olds: 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Eleven year olds: 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Twelve year olds and older: 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Starting Evaluations:

Players will be organized in number order
Players will be announced to evaluating coaches
Coaches may evaluate players from the bleachers or bring chairs to sit along either foul line - they may move back and forth as they wish.

Evaluation Drills and Order:

Batting: Five (5) good pitches from the pitching machine
Base Running: Two (2) runs for each player. The first run is from home to first. The second run is from home to home (coaches are to use their own stopwatches)
Infield Fielding: Three (3) ground balls from shortstop position throwing to first base.
Infield 1st Base: Three (3) balls will be thrown to the player at the first base.
Outfield: Three (3) fly balls from the fly ball machine to the player in Centerfield. The player then throws to third base.
Pitching Optional: Pitching for interested players - at the end of the evaluation period, players will throw five (5) pitches off the mound.
Catching Optional: Catching for interested players - at the end of the evaluation period, players will catch five (5) pitches from the machine.
